One of our newest technologies that we’re very proud to share with you is our 3D LightForce braces. This is the first brace ever to be 3D printed. And what that means is each brace is custom-printed to the shape and position of every tooth. This has never been done before.

The great thing about this is that it’s going to deliver results in a shorter treatment time than having traditional braces. It also means that you’ll only need to come to the orthodontist when you actually need your braces adjusted. This is going to provide great convenience for our patients and result in fewer visits over the course of their orthodontic treatment.

These braces look fantastic because they’re smaller and tooth coloured and therefore very discreet. All the braces, including the lower braces and the top braces are all tooth coloured, even right back to the molars. Traditionally, the molar braces were always silver. Now with the 3D printed braces, they will be tooth-coloured as well.

This makes the whole appliance a lot less noticeable and so people can feel more comfortable smiling in them. They will look really good when they’re on their teeth.

For the process of 3D Light Force braces, we start by taking a scan of the teeth and send this to the lab. Your custom braces are printed to fit exactly to the shape of the tooth. This is going to help greatly when we’re straightening the teeth and improve the accuracy of straightening.

The braces are printed by a highly sophisticated 3D printer that costs multi million dollars. There’s only one of these in the world and it’s taken a few years to take this concept to actually having the braces produced.

There is a lot of tech behind this and we’re fortunate to be having this in Australia. As a matter of fact, we are one of the few orthodontic practices to have the privilege of being able to provide this for our patients. This is only available with specialist orthodontists.
